Kazimir Malevich
bronze
height: 52 cm
Model of the monument
The work dedicated to Kazimir Malevich is a homage to one of the most influential artists deeply connected with Kyiv’s cultural environment. The sculpture revisits his well-known 1933 self-portrait, placing him within a symbolic frame alongside the Suprematist square — expressing the threshold between the traditional artistic space and the new visual consciousness he introduced.
The artist stands within a rectangular frame — both inside and beyond it — as a metaphor for the traditional boundaries of painting and the limits of perception that Malevich expanded, even broke, through his artistic revolution. This work is awaiting its realization in large scale.
