International exhibition “Psychonauten II”

It is a gift of fate for me to participate in the Psychonauten II exhibition at the Giger Museum at such a difficult time for my country. My gratitude to all the organizers, and especially Carmen Giger-Scheifele, for this opportunity.Since childhood, I unconsciously tried to alter my state of consciousness in a controlled way. Later, the books of Carlos Castaneda helped me to understand those feelings and experiences. Subsequently, my creativity was ignited by altered states, under any circumstances, evoked by music, meditation, etc.At this stage, creativity and changed reality have merged with the reality of life. It is difficult to distinguish between them in consciousness. The experience of war has radically changed perceptions: abruptly, ruthlessly changing fundamental values. Today in Kyiv, life looks almost ordinary, but with some surreal overtones. Suddenly the blast of an air alert siren sounds. This terrible blare, like the trumpets of angels calling for the Last Judgment, changes reality more uncompromisingly than anything else. According to Carlos Castaneda, nothing changes consciousness more than a real, critical, life situation.A change in consciousness of the events in Ukraine has taken place all over the free world. One example is evident in a change in the perception of color. Never before has the combination of yellow and blue had such a dramatic tone, or drawn as many additional layers of meaning. Now, they are immediately perceived as the colors of the Ukrainian flag, synonymous with the events in Mariupol, Bucha, and many other new associations. At first glance, it may seem that artistic expression has no comparison to our defense of Ukraine. But in principle, in content, in essence they are on the same plane – a struggle for freedom, freedom of self-perception and self-expression. The war in Ukraine is a struggle for the freedom of consciousness, the freedom of free self-expression, and a free people. (May 8, 2022)
